2 Slot Rtx 3090
Im interested in 2-slot version of RTX3080, cause Im plannig to mount 4 of them in one PC. Just one thing to consider - remember you will need dual PSU for this. We are talking 350x4 just for the GPUs and there's also rest of the system. So seriously consider like 2x 1600W (or at least a standalone 1600W PSU for GPUs). Kosin a Chinese subsidiary of Lenovo has recently published a video showing how they modded their Ryzen notebook to run an RTX 3090 from the NVMe M.2 slot. Kosin used their Xiaoxin Air 14 laptop with a Ryzen 5 4600U processor for the demonstration. Jan 26, 2021 What if I told you that it is possible to connect a GPU Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 desktop to a laptop via one slot M.2? The idea was made by Kosin, a Chinese subsidiary of Lenovo, which. PCI-E 2.0 X16 = PCI-E 3.0 X8. PCIe Generation Bandwidth PCIe Gen 1 x16 8 Gbps PCIe Gen 2 x16 16 Gbps PCIe Gen 3 x16 32 Gbps. Intel and Nvidia have been slow in adapting to PCIe gen 4.0 but AMD processors and GPUs already support the latest PCIe 4.0 standard.
Bottom line: The setup is about the furthest thing from practical – in fact, they describe it as “hideous and terrible” – but it “works perfectly” and for the purpose of feeding our curiosity, it more than suffices.
Nvidia’s latest “Titan” class graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3090, is the most powerful consumer graphics card money can buy (that is, if you can find one to purchase). It’s also the only 30-Series GPU equipped with the proprietary connector to enable multi-card SLI configurations.
Of course, if you’ve been following the SLI story, you already know that Nvidia’s scalable link interface has been on the way out for years now. The final nail in the coffin was effectively hammered in last month when the GPU maker said it would no longer be adding new SLI driver profiles for RTX 20 Series and earlier cards starting on January 1, 2021.
Instead, Nvidia will leave it up to developers to natively support SLI inside their games for older cards, the RTX 3090 and “future SLI-capable GPUs,” which more or less means the end of the road.
A handful of DirectX 12 and Vulkan games do support SLI natively, however, and Gamers Nexus simply couldn’t resist linking two RTX 3090 cards together to see what was possible.
The results are fun, for sure, but don't waste your money.
